It was through the experience of helping parents create attachment with children who had suffered developmental trauma that she realized the healing power of the parent child relationship. Her belief in the power of positive parenting and relationship building as an effective parenting strategy has helped countless families find alternatives to traditional discipline strategies that simply don't work. ln addition to her private practice, Carol works with families and children at a nonprofit clinic in Vancouver. Through a trauma informed lens she helps children heal from emotional, physical, and sexual abuse and supports families who are recently separated or going through the process of divorce. She has post-graduate training in filial therapy, expressive therapy, play therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), and dyadic infant led approaches. She is in the process of attaining certification in an area of EMDR that focuses on strengthening the attachment relationship and helping children heal from early trauma. Her current area of interest is in the neurobiological basis of behaviour in children.
